T[/color][/font]he Regime of Shadows . . .
It is a land connected to the realm of Magyk by the Necromantic Mere, a supernatural pool of water as still as a translucent mirror despite the multihued waterfall that cascades into its depths. The horses of the kingdoms wade into the mystic fathoms to be "joined" with an Energy, a creature from the Magyk side that, once bonded to a horse, grants its host "powers" over various elements. These Energies are divided into seven categories, separated by their characteristics and named for their colors.

Red[/size], created by the Goddess Elerose, controls heat, fire, and electricity. Blue, created by the God Celahir, controls water, the clouds, and the cold. White, created by the God Alassë, controls air, gravity, and the moon. Green, created by the God Isil, controls earth, vegetation, and seasons. Yellow, created by the Goddess Enelya, controls the sun and can teleport and become invisible. Silver, the Queen over the others, created by the High Goddess Séreméla, controls time and can shapeshift into any form and is able to bend forcefields. Gold, the King over the others, created by the High God Elessar, controls a mixture of the others; the fire of the Red, the clouds of the Blue, the gravity of the White, the earth of the Green, the teleportation of the Yellow, and the forcefields of the Silver.

The Energy does have a downside. It begins to change you. A horse born mild and shy will grow fiesty and erratic if it is bonded with a Red Energy, and so on and so forth. Each color has a different set of traits that its host begins to conform to without ever taking serious notice of the alteration. The Energies also change the body of its host, such as the Blue Energy enhances the grace of its host to a surreal degree.
