oldwood
The Oldwood Forest–commonly just "Oldwood"–is a vast old growth forest that stretches from the far north to the burned forest and from the high desert to the basin. The forest is so old that huge logs of petrified wood can sometimes be found in it. The tallest trees here are straight Douglas firs, reaching 100 feet into the air and higher. Huckleberry trees grow at certain altitudes, yielding their fruit in the summer when and the soft ground is covered in oxalis. Many animals make this forest their home: deer, raccoons, ravens, owls, and dangerous predators such as bears, wolverines and wolves. Oldwood is a dangerous, although wondrous, place that one is more likely to get lost in than to visit for pleasure.
